I was contacted by a local Scout group to design and host a new website for them. They wanted something modern and eye catching that they could use to encourage new people to join. I started with a bright cover photo with an inspirational quote that speaks to the mindset of Scouting. Under that is a button going straight to the contact page. The button used the Scouting brand colours, as does the entire site.

Each section gets a large button with their individual logos. This encourages visitors to visit the section they want while advertising all the available sections. Under this, each section leader has a photo along with their title. This helps new parents be familiar with the leaders before they go to the first meeting. There is also a section highlighting the awards that the Leaders have won throughout the year.

Each section (Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) has a seperate page. Each page has a similar layout and has at the top a large cover photo with important information above the break. Below this there is a news section to allow the leaders to share news with the parents. At the bottom of each page is a graphic showing the placement of badges on each uniform. This was a regular question by parents ans having it on the site has made it easier for this information to be passed on.

The group have been very happy with the new site, as it has allowed potential new joiners get the information they need without having to wait for a response by the leaders.
